On Sunday October 11th we will be hosting five incredible authors who will be reading passages from their books. We will be kicking things off from 5PM - 8:30PM and there will be a meet & greet with the authors and their books for purchase following the readings.
Jeff VanderMeer's bestselling, critically acclaimed novels include the Borne trilogy (Borne, The Strange Bird, and Dead Astronauts) and the Southern Reach series (Annihilation, Authority, Acceptance, Absolution, and the forthcoming Abdication). Annihilation won the Nebula Award and the Shirley Jackson Award and was adapted into a major motion picture by Alex Garland, starring Natalie Portman. VanderMeer, a popular public speaker, has given talks at MIT, Columbia, Yale, the Guggenheim, and Vanderbilt. He recently had the honor of delivering the John Hersey Memorial Address (Key West Literary Seminar) and the Walter Harding Lecture at SUNY Geneseo. Called "the weird Thoreau" by The New Yorker, VanderMeer has had major environmental nonfiction appear in Time, The Nation, the Los Angeles Times, and Esquire, among other publications.
Wendy Wagner's novel Girl in the Creek was nominated for the Stoker Award, and her short fiction has been nominated for the Shirley Jackson and Theodore Sturgeon awards. A Hugo award-winning and three-time Locus award-nominated editor of short fiction, she serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Nightmare Magazine and the Managing/Senior Editor of Lightspeed Magazine.
Keith Rosson is the author of the novels Crone, Coffin Moon, The Devil by Name, Fever House, Smoke City, Road Seven, and The Mercy of the Tide as well as the Shirley Jackson Award-winning story collection Folk Songs for Trauma Surgeons.
